A truly brilliant diamond buying experience with Whiteflash

My experience shopping for an engagement ring started like many others: you go to a local jewelry store and look at some diamonds to get a feel for the carat, cut, clarity, and color that you want. But you might as well stop there and give Whiteflash a call. Traci was absolutely amazing to work with – as was Debi, Vera, and the rest of the Whiteflash team. I began speaking with Traci at Whiteflash just before Thanksgiving about selecting the perfect diamond. After pouring over their in-house collection, we narrowed it down to approximately a half dozen diamonds. I knew I wanted a 2+ carat ideal cut diamond that was eye-clean and H in color. Traci personally took the time to pull the diamonds from their vault and inspected them to help make the best decision possible. At Traci’s recommendation I chose an ideal-cut 2.143 carat H SI1 diamond. I was concerned that the SI1 would have visible inclusions but Traci assured me that it was eye-clean not only from the top, but also from the side! This was very important as I knew I wanted a 4-prong setting that held the diamond in an open gallery and would be visible from the side. It may be nitpicking, as no one but me would ever be inspecting the diamond from the side 4 inches from my face, but naturally I wanted everything to be perfect as en engagement ring is a once in a lifetime purchase! After careful selection of the diamond, we began talking about settings. I knew I wanted a diamond pave setting in platinum, and while the Whiteflash Harmony setting is beautiful, I wanted an open gallery head and also an euro-shank. Traci had already left for the Thanksgiving holiday, but was kind enough to keep in touch with me throughout her vacation – truly above and beyond anything I expected! I was more than happy to wait until the following week to hear from anyone – but Whiteflash’s customer service was truly second to none. Since Traci was not in the office, Debi (Whiteflash’s Founder and CEO!) sent me images of custom designed bands that I might be able to pull inspiration from. Think about that for a second… The Founder and CEO of the company was emailing me over the Thanksgiving holiday to ensure that I would be able to find the perfect setting. Wow. What exceptional service. Ultimately we settled on a semi-custom platinum Harmony setting that had the euro-shank and a 4-prong open gallery claw-prong head. I was planning to propose a couple of weeks before Christmas, and was worried that being a custom ring it would not be completed in time. Somehow, Traci and Debi were able to get the ring done in a time-frame that seemed almost unreasonable as I knew there would be a Christmas-time engagement ring purchasing rush. After picking what I believed to be a perfect diamond and setting, I was very excited the day that the ring arrived via Fedex overnight air. I rushed to open the package to see what hours of painstaking learning, reviewing, decision making, and of course hard-work from the jewelers at Whiteflash had created. I am the kind of pain-in-the-butt customer that demands perfection and I know that I can be overly critical at times. But I have to say, perfection is what I got. I have excellent eyesight and have been able to see inclusions in diamonds in stores that others can’t even believe I can see. But the diamond that Traci expertly helped me find is stunning. I can’t spot a single imperfection by eye. The cut is absolutely amazing – far surpassing anything I have ever seen in any jewelry store. Nothing can even come close really. The brilliance and sparkle in the diamond is mind-blowing. Everyone that sees it comments what an amazing diamond it is! And the setting looks absolutely stunning with the 24 “A Cut Above” diamonds encircling the band. There’s so much sparkle it almost hurts. The metal work shows absolutely no spotting, cracking, or strain at all in the beautifully and expertly finished platinum. I have to say that it is a work of art. I have nothing but praise for Traci, Debi, Vera, and the entire Whiteflash team. Thank you all for the perfect diamond, setting, and customer service. You made me feel second to none, and my fiancé is ecstatic about her stunning ring. I could not recommend any company higher.
