Whiteflash surpassed my highest expectations.
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Whiteflash. It’s hard to decide where to begin, so I’ll start with the bottom line: my experience with Whiteflash was flawless from beginning to end.
A few years ago I helped a friend shop for an engagement ring. He purchased his ring from Blue Nile (BN) and had a good experience, so when the time came for me to start shopping for an engagement ring, I looked into BN but I also searched for other companies doing the same kind of business so I could comparison shop. That’s how I found Whiteflash (WF).
Shortly after making an account on WF’s website I was contacted by one of their representatives, and that’s when the fun began. As a science nerd I had some rather narrow parameters in terms of the diamond characteristics and price I wanted and I was watching diamond listings closely waiting for the right one to come along. After describing my parameters to her, she was able to look into their production pipeline and offer a couple diamonds that had not hit their website yet, but fit my requirements perfectly.
After selecting one of those diamonds, it was time to choose a setting. I found a couple I liked, but none were quite perfect. After explaining my dilemma to my consultant, she offered some customization options that would change one of the settings from almost perfect to exactly perfect.
The rest of the transaction was equally smooth. I exchanged emails with WF’s financial representative regarding my wire transfer payments, their photographer regarding the beautiful pictures of the ring, and their shipping representative regarding delivery. Every one of them was prompt, polite, and helpful.
Oh, and the ring. The ring is stunning. When I took the ring for an independent appraisal for insurance purposes, the stoic jeweler – who makes a living looking at beautiful gemstones - seemed impressed in spite of himself. The diamond is a round cut with WF’s “A Cut Above” label. I was concerned that the “A Cut Above” label was simply a marketing gimmick, but my appraisal solidly squashed that notion. It’s worth it.
I have high expectations for companies I choose to do business with, regardless of whether I’m spending a few bucks or a few thousand bucks. I was hesitant to spend a large sum with a company I couldn't visit in person on a product I couldn't put my hands on (WF is in Texas; I’m in Maryland). Whiteflash stepped up to the plate and earned my business. I’m happy I chose to purchase my engagement ring from them and I will be coming back to them to purchase my wedding bands.
