CRJP Releases Code of Practices

The Council for Responsible Jewelry Practices released a 16-page Code of Practices on Thursday, September 22, which outlines the ethical, social and environmental guidelines the CRJP will expect members to adhere to.

According to chief executive Michael Rae, implementation will include the use of independent third-party monitors to demonstrate that the practices of its members are responsible. The CRJP was founded in May 2005 with members from a cross section of the diamond and gold jewelry supply chain. Council Members are committed to promoting responsible business practices in a transparent and accountable manner throughout the industry from mine to retail to build consumer confidence and trust.
